Winn Smith

If you are familiar with the concept of osmosis, then you would understand the creative thought process of Winn Smith. It’s as if he absorbs everything around him, and everything that’s going on in his life only to regurgitate it into a beautiful masterpiece. His biggest influences in the art world would be Dali, Haring, Warhol, Picasso, and Basquiat, but believes his own life experiences influence him most. He has never been great at expressing himself socially and art has always been his vice, which explains his philosophy behind his art; and that is that it should be used as a form of expression and not for profit. What he really wants is for it to transcend beyond his own life and see how others interpret and relate it to their lives. He leaves many of his works untitled for this reason. The devil is in the details. Whether it’s an emotionally unstable, sexually frustrated, heavily intoxicated Winn or a peaceful, loving, often humorous, heavily intoxicated Winn, you are going to get a glimpse of it in his artworks.
