COLLAGE & MIXED MEDIA ARTIST
Lisa McCutcheon is a collage artist and painter living in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was born in a suburb just outside Chicago. She pursued painting as a direct result of her mother, a painter who attended the Chicago Art Institute. Lisa attended the San Francisco Art Institute in 2001 for her MFA. Originally a painter of large scale work, Lisarecently turned to collage finding that hand cutting and layering adds another level both conceptually and formally to the work. She most recently had a solo show at Max Occupancy Projects within the Mystic Hotel. She was included in the New Familiar at Brayer Gallery in LA. She received a merit award in Left Coast Annualat Sanchez Art Center was included inIntroductions at Trestle Gallery in Brooklyn and in Introductionsat Root Division in San Francisco as well as Layered curated by Kirk Stoller. She has also been included in auctions such as the NurtureArt benefit in New York and the San Jose Institute for Contemporary Art live auction. She has also taught for a number of years at the San Francisco Art Institute in the adult education program.
