What’s the most important object in your studio? I’d have to say the most important object in my studio is my sketch book. A design can be quickly done up on a computer and completed, but it is often ones first draft something they didn’t take time to really explore and plan out. When you take time to sketch and explore your idea you end up usually finding something that makes it better or at least works out future problems and its easiest and faster to do this on a simple sketch pad, any artist should sketch out different designs before committing to their first idea.
Favourite project you have produced so far? This is a tough question since I’m a Graphic Design student new and more challenging projects are coming each and everyday, my latest project that I really enjoyed was a vector illustration of a rhino. I tried 3 or 4 different animals before landing on the Rhino and when I did finally start to work on it I was blown away by just how easy it came to me and how great it came together.
What are you working on right now? Right now I’m working on a few projects such as logo designs, magazine layouts, Illustrations, as well as other projects to build up my portfolio.
Favourite food? Its so hard to just pick one. Food is art. Right now I’d have to say my favourite food is Shawarma. For anyone who doesn’t know what Shawarma is, it is a Middle Eastern food that has become pretty popular in my area. The meat in the Shawarma can be Beef or Chicken and can have a variety of sauces humus and vegetables, wrapped in a pita.
Coffee or tea? This is easy, as a college student I drink and survive from absurd amounts of coffee to help wake me up in the morning after getting just 2 hours of sleep because I stayed up late to do an assignment.
What’s your earliest creative memory? When I was in about grade 6 we had a program at school that we would use to create pictures and drawings/doodles. It was my favourite thing to do at school to waste time and not do assigned work. I guess my love and passion from design stemmed from that.
How do you prefer to spend your mornings? To be very honest I’m a get up and go person. I get up eat some breakfast and go do what I have to whether that’s going to work or school, or just getting right to work on a design project.
