Anastasiya Kunets

Belarusian artist Anastasiya Kunets was born in Minsk, the Republic of Belarus. She took to the pencil naturally when she was 2 years old and started drawing feverishly. She has yet to put that pencil down.

Growing up Anastasiya attended academic drawing classes of Belarusian artists, including classes by a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, Vladimir Tkachenko.

Anastasiya was strongly influenced by the artworks of Albrecht Dürer, Anders Zorn and Michelangelo da Caravaggio. Within her works she tries to replicate their drawing, painting and compositional techniques.

Anastasiya now practices photorealism techniques within her work. The use of symbolism within Anastasiya’s work is an important part of her creative process. Anastasiya seeks to visualize her imaginative inner world, and to capture the emotional states of her subjects.

Anastasiya’s artworks are included in the collections of the National and Republican museums of Belarus, as well as private collections in Latvia, Poland, Russia and Belarus.

In 2016 Anastasiya was the lead illustrator for the publication Universal Tribe written by Alexey Novosiolov, which was published in July 2016.

Anastasiya’s artistic philosophy is, “I have a goal! I believe in myself! I’m not afraid of any obstacles!”
